Description

Biking and Rafting The Oneida Route on the Grand River.

Biking is upstream the river on a relatively flat, gravel covered rail trail (see map).  Everyone should bring his/her own bike, bike helmet and bike lock.  Bike rental is also available, but not included in the price.

Rafting:  The Grand River Oneida Route located half way between Toronto and London in Paris-Ontario.  It is about 13 km long with easy swifts and swimming spots. The Oneida averages 1 meter in depth.  It has 1 km of stony rapids Class 1.  The river is 50-75 meters wide.  You can swim in the river, but wear shoes.  There are few biting bugs, but no poisonous snakes.  A very beautiful wilderness setting.  It can be completed in 4-5 hours, but this depends on the length of swimming breaks and picnics.

The rafts are oversized, inflatable and very stable.  They do not tip over and they are great even for non swimmers.  People can also stand up and move around in them.  Each raft comes with one life jacket for each participant (including kids), paddles, one dry bag.
